I spent over 10 years working with racing thoroughbreds both on and off the track.  I saw more 2 year olds than I can count or remember shin buck and many many 3 year olds also.  I am just wondering that if a horse has never shin bucked when it was young, is it possible for it to shin buck when it's older, say 13 or 14 even?

Hi,
I thought this was an interesting question and I forwarded it to Dr. Dan Moore, the "Natural" horse vet online with eNeigh.  He will be responding to you in the next day or so, as he is out of town for the holiday.  Great question, since leg issues arise so frequently amongst the racing/jumping/hunting breeds. I'm sure this comes up often. Thanks for a great post.
